If there is an NFL season, it looks like there won’t be any holdout for Dak Prescott.

The Cowboys quarterback is planning to sign his franchise tag tender by Monday, ESPN reported Sunday, locking in a $31.4 million salary for 2020 unless the two sides can agree to a new deal by July 15.

Signing the tender contractually obligates Prescott to report to training camp, assuming it goes on as scheduled without the coronavirus pandemic deciding otherwise.

Prescott has been seeking a long-term extension, but the reported hangup is over years, not money. According to multiple reports, the 26-year-old wants a four-year contract while the Cowboys want a longer deal.

The Cowboys placed the exclusive franchise tag on Prescott in March, ensuring that no other team could offer the two-time Pro Bowler a contract. They also signed Andy Dalton to be a backup quarterback, providing a solid option in case Prescott decided not to sign the tender and hold out.

If the NFL was rigged, it wouldn't be so the Rams can beat the Cowboys, that's for sure.

I have never understood the love for Dak and Wentz. Neither will kill your franchises obviously but nothing to worry about losing either. I suppose though at some point both will end up as the highest paid players of all-time in the NFL.

Wentz will end up like Jay Cutler in my opinion. His potential will be talked about his whole career and he will be paid his whole career on potential instead of any results he put in....though i guess Wentz had that 10 game or so run that he played like an MVP. Has been mediocre to below average all games before or since.

Dak. Well, Dallas got themselves another Tony Romo for what that's worth. Good to Great numbers for teams that win between 7-11 games every single year and round 2 exits as their max.

watched the end of game and he was scrambling this tells me there wasn't any set play(s) with a little over a minute and just needed POSITION for a FG. Scrambling is looking/asking for a hail mary. sometimes works but odds are better needing a TD. Armchair opinion... Great Sunday will try to tune in next week and start following again

Dallas looked exactly like they have all previous seasons. Mediocre in game coaching, followed by not awful but at best questionable decision making in critical spots, decent but not great qb play, along with a strong running game that will only take you so far in the modern day NFL. All leading to another close defeat.

McCarthy was also a safe and uninspired hire. He won't win Dallas a super bowl as he will be out coached by other play off coaches. Another guy that won't kill you but won't win you the big prize unless you can make up for him.
